The key to any Administrative Assistant position is great organisational and excellent interpersonal skills. The other requirements are:

  • The ability to prioritise a busy workload and be able to perform a number of tasks at the same time
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills in order to deal with a range of enquiries from customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to produce and manipulate spreadsheets and databases
  • Speed typing skills and possibly Audio typing
  • In-depth knowledge of English grammar and spelling
  • Ability to set appointments and experience of diary management
  • Ability to be an integral member of the team
  • Able to adopt a flexible approach to work
  • Well-groomed and professional appearance
