IT Recruitment Consultant Job Description

The role of an IT Recruitment Consultant is to match the needs of clients seeking permanent or contract IT staff with the skills, experience and requirements of candidates seeking a new permanent or contract position.  The positions can range from entry-level positions to senior executives, including directors.

IT Recruitment consultants work with clients to build relationships and understand tehie employment requirments. based on these requirements, they look for suitable staff using various mediums and networking. Once they have a suitable list of job seeker applicants, they screen these candidates by interviewing them, doing background checks, and putting forward the candiates who they believe best meet their clients' needs.

IT Recruitment consultants are also required to attract new clients and candidates and retain existing clients and candidates.

It is a challenging and high-pressure position, requiring a range of sales and inter-personal skills and a thick skin.

Your Functions May include


 

  • Based on thier own industry specialisms, will target clients who they believe they can provide a good recruitment service to
  • building relationships with clients
  • profile the company, its current staff set-up & culture, and its current staff requirements
  • obtain a brief of  roles currently needing to be filled and respond by advertising vacancies using a wide range of media, including job sites and networking sites like Linked-In, or where necessary head-hunt candidates who may not be actively looking for employment
  • receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and short-listing candidates
  • checking references and suitability of applicants before referral to employers for interview
  • arranging interviews for the right candidates with the clients
  • preparing résumés and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants
  • informing candidates about the results of their interviews and preparing letters of appointment
  • offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression; reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes
