Recruitment is likely to continue for senior-level
management jobs during the coming months, it has been suggested.
Graeme Leach, director of policy at the Institute of Directors, explains that companies continue to face a need to appoint high-level individuals into niche roles, regardless of the wider economy.
"There is a difference between difficult, specific and hard-to-fill occupations as opposed to general management," he says.
He adds that, therefore, opportunities in specific management jobs are likely to outpace more general roles during the economic turbulence as companies seek the correct candidates for their needs.
Mr Leach also notes that, based on his own experiences of the current climate, recruitment cannot be generalised by sector.
Rather, he notes that there continue to be bright spots in different sectors, as well as some companies which are not faring so well.
His comments could come as reassurance for those who are seeking high-level employment opportunities across different industry areas.
