New
Manchester jobs could be created through new contracts secured by animation house Cosgrove Hall.
Crain's Manchester Business reports on the potential increase in
media jobs due to the two new contracts won by the firm.
The news comes as the company relocates to Quay Street, home to Granada Studios, from its previous premises in Chorlton.
Lee Marriott, commercial and finance director at Cosgrove Hall, tells the publication that the
new media jobs are likely to include story board artists, post-production staff and screen writers.
However, despite its relocation to Quay Street, the existing premises in Chorlton are to be retained, which could see even more Manchester jobs made available in future stop-motion work with the animation house.
One of the new contracts has now been announced as being a 52-part series, Ruby to the Rescue, due to air on preschool channel CBeebies in 2010 and 2011.
The series is a two-dimensional computer-generated animation starring Ruby, best friend Roger, robot Clunk and sidekick dog Howler.
Morgan Jamison, marketing manager at Careers and Jobs UK, says: "This represents a fantastic opportunity for jobs seekers in Manchester that are looking for a career that is slightly different and perhaps stimulates their more creative side."
