Berkshire jobs will gain more than 30 new positions with two major retailers to Broad Street Mall.
According to the Reading Chronicle, an Ethel Austin will replace the former Zavvi and the Adams site will be transformed into a Modelzone.
Ethel Austin will sell clothes, shoes, homeware and cosmetics in the 15,000 sq ft site, which might possibly open by the end of November.
The clothes retailer will create 27 full and part-time retail jobs where Modelzone, which sells Airfix kits, are looking to employ six staff members.
Modelzone will open its doors on the 21st of November.
Steve Fawke, Broad Street Mall manager commented to the news provider: “This is fantastic news for us and the first of a number of announcements we will be making. These are new retailers to the town. The Zavvi unit is the most prominent unit we have in the scheme.”
Fawke also told Reading Post that they had plenty of offers for the two sites but Ethel Austin and Modelzone are both fantastic additions to the mall.
“Ethel Austin is just what we needed in such a prominent position,” he said.
“They are an all-in-one retailer so should prove very popular.
“Modelzone is also something we haven’t had in the centre for a number of years.
“They will really increase the offer we have in time for Christmas.”
