The cut-price trader QD is to create around 25
retail jobs when it opens its newest shop on the site of a former Woolworths store, according to a newspaper.
Cambridge News said that the 25 roles will be a mix of part-time and full-time positions which will be based in the refurbished Woolworths store that has been empty since it closed just after Christmas last year.
Justin Farrington Smith, managing director of QD, said: "No one could have foreseen just how far-reaching the impact of QD's growth would be."
He added that apart from the obvious benefits the new jobs bring to the community it is also good news for people wanting to hear some positive recruitment news.
In other
retail jobs news, the Rochdale Observer reported that more than 30 roles are going to be created when the discount household chain Poundland opens in Rochdale this month.
