A new development in Dorset is set to create 1,000 new
UK jobs, which could be great news for those looking for work.
The project will revamp the New Look site in Weymouth and will include the creation of a major supermarket, hotel, restaurant and office space, the Dorset Echo has reported.
A public consultation will be held to assess local support for the scheme and after this is concluded, a formal planning application will be made to Weymouth and Portland Borough Council.
Construction is expected to create 700 roles, while 400 will be based in the petrol station and supermarket, 100 from the new hotel and restaurant and the remainder will be created through the site's office and industrial units.
In other news, B&Q recently came forward to emphasise its commitment to try and save UK jobs during revamping of its distribution operations.
It stated that it would be creating an addition 550 positions in Swindon, with a further 250 being created in Worksop.
