The department of health has announced a series of changes which could affect people in and looking for
health jobs, including nurses, midwives and dentists.
New measures were laid out in a white paper entitled Trust, Assurance and Safety and key features included a plan to ensure parity between lay and professional members, independently appointing new council members and introducing smaller board-like councils.
Health minister Ann Keen said: "The changes we have introduced will continue to raise professional standards in healthcare and encourage more transparency and high quality services for patients and the public."
Anna van der Gaag, chair of the Health Professions Council, said that the new measures would help to recruit a regulatory board which is diverse and strong.
Health jobs in the south-west were recently boosted by the creation of three treatment centres which will produce around 225 roles in the region across centres in Bristol.
