Human resources (HR) jobs provide businesses with a boost to their bottom line, reports the Institute for Employment Studies.
And by making sure their employers realise this, people with
HR jobs have a "real opportunity" to progress into more senior roles.
Principal consultant at the institute Paul Fairhurst says: "Sharing best practice on a wide variety of topics such as engagement and the psychological contract helps HR raise its game and move into the role of strategic business partner."
The organisation is now offering training for people hoping to progress further through
HR jobs - as well as those responsible for giving jobs to other individuals.
Employee engagement and workforce planning are among the topics to be covered, along with guidance for people entering senior
HR roles.
In September, the institute revealed the three key skills managers look for when filling HR vacancies.
These included professionalism - where an individual is able to demonstrate real experience or skills in the sector.
Pro-active candidates are also in demand, along with responsive people able to demonstrate that they are taking management needs into account.
Morgan Jamison, marketing manager at Careers and Jobs UK, comments: "With a number of HR professionals using Careers and Jobs UK to advertise their vacancies we are familiar with the skills and abilities that they can offer businesses.
"With a good number of
HR jobs being advertised on Careers and Jobs UK it would seem that businesses are aware of what HR professionals can offer as well."
