Human resources jobs are proving resilient

People looking for human resources (HR) jobs are looking to work in a sector which is proving resilient in the recession, according to one expert who predicted that conditions will improve into 2010.Andrew Mayo, president the HR Society, formerly the Manpower Society, said that moving into the sector is a natural choice in an economic downturn because companies still require recruitment work.
"There is often more HR work to be done than less when organisations are contracting. The HR market has been relatively resilient for permanent positions, being less dependent on subcontractors," he said.
The expert added that the industry is being bolstered by post holiday hiring and said that the current trend shows there are encouraging signs of recovery in the UK's HR sector.
UK jobs have recently been bolstered after the number of job appointments rose for the second consecutive month during September, according to research by KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.
