Increased spending on IT around the world will lead to millions of
UK jobs being created, according to one expert who said the investment means the sector could grow by three per cent a year from now through to 2013.
Stephen Uden, head of skills and economic affairs at Microsoft, said that the growth in the sector will be more than three times faster than the rate of total employment.
He said: "Spending growth means that employment in the IT industry and of IT professionals in IT-using organisations will rise by 5.8 million jobs in the four years from the end of 2009 to the end of 2013."
Research by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and professional services provider KPMG showed that demand for staff in the IT and computing markets was up 4.3 per cent in September compared to August, which could interest people looking for
UK jobs.
