New catering jobs are on the menu for London’s West End as an infamous chef is looking to acquire a restaurant in the area.
According to Big Hospitality, French chef Pierre Koffmann has appointed Restaurant Property to find a suitable site in the West End.
The iconic chef has confirmed his plans to Caterer Search: “Yes, I am looking to open a new restaurant,” he said.
Koffman also commented that he is looking to open a straightforward brasserie.
“It wouldn’t need to have Michelin stars or anything like that, just a simple restaurant where I can cook the things I want to eat,” he commented.
Koffmann has experienced significant success with his pop-up restaurant on Selfridges’ roof in London. The restaurant was supposed to run for a week during the London Restaurant Festival but was such a big hit; it will now run until the 27th of November.
David Rawlinson, director at Restaurant Property told the publication: “The name Pierre Koffman has been synonymous with the finest French food in England for close to 40 years. His triumph at Selfridges is a great foundation on which to build a new restaurant concept on."
London jobs in catering and hospitality will benefit from a new restaurant, especially with the Olympic Games around the corner.
