New London jobs will be created through a D&D hotel planned for the capital’s financial district.
The seven-storey luxury hotel will be situated in South Place on a site of 72,000sq ft which is let to D&D by Frogmore Property Company.
The hotel will consist out of 80 bedrooms and a restaurant and bar on the roof-top.
The ground floor will also have a restaurant and bar and will boost the capitals catering jobs to a great extent as well.
Allies and Morrison architects will design the hotel and Conran and Partners will be in charge of the interior decorating.
Des Gunewardena, chairman and chief executive officer of D&D London, commented to Eat Out Magazine: “This will be D&D's first hotel. I think it's a gem of a site and especially after our Great Eastern experience I am very confident that we can make a success of it.
“We are also very pleased to be working with Frogmore. I have known Paul White and his team for many years.
“They understand our aspirations for the site and I am sure will prove excellent development partners for us.”
Development on the lavish hotel will start in 2010 and could be finished just in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
