Marketers in Europe will spend more time and effort on online advertising during 2010 and 2011, a new report suggested.
The Marketers’ Internet Ad Barometer conducted by European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA), forecasts an increase of 7.6pc in 2010, which is great news for people in online advertising jobs.
According to The Guardian, the report also suggests a further increase of 15pc in 2011.
The research involved senior marketing executives across nine European markets and delivered interesting results on other marketing mediums as well.
Almost a third of respondents will be increasing their online video advertising and 20pc will boost their mobile marketing.
Alison Fennah, Executive Director of the EIAA said: “The Marketers’ Internet Ad Barometer findings reveal that online advertising is continuing to thrive and grow due to its flexibility, accountability and ability to offer brands a robust return on investment whilst the recession impacts overall marketing budgets.
“For this reason, online advertising is further consolidating its position as the medium of choice for marketers across Europe. Marketers still seek innovation with new formats such as mobile evolving and helping interactive media to emerge strongly as we look forward to the upturn.”
It is evident that UK jobs in marketing will focus more on alternative media to ride out the rest of the recession.
