Berkshire jobs in Maidenhead could increase drastically due to three potential developments in town.
Construction on the Travelodge has just started and plans to revamp Maidenhead Rugby Club and bring a Tesco to town might be on the cards.
According to the Maidenhead Advertiser the new Travelodge will be constructed on a former IT building and construction workers are currently knocking the old building down.
The 96-bedroom hotel and restaurant will attract plenty of tourists and create numerous jobs in the area.
The Maidenhead Rugby Club has recently submitted plans to the Royal Borough Council where they ask permission to build a two-storey extension. The additional quarters will be used as extra showers and changing rooms.
Maidenhead jobs will also benefit from Tesco’s plans to bid for another site in town. This will be Tesco’s second bid to replace a former Mercedes Benz garage into a supermarket with several apartments on-top.
The retailer’s first bid was refused by the Royal Borough. The reasons included traffic concerns, its close proximity with the other Tesco in town as well as apprehension from other shops in the area.
Although not all the developments planned for Maidenhead is favourable, the town is attracting a lot of interest which could prove beneficial for employment opportunities.
