Berkshire jobs in Newbury could get a generous boost if JD Wetherspoon buys a second pub in town.
According to the Newbury Today, the Chicago Rock Cafe could become a Lloyds No 1 that might even boast with live music.
Last year November, JD Wetherspoon bought The Berkshire Tavern in Newbury’s Market Place and it is currently under renovation.
The Berkshire Tavern will re-open under its former name, The Hatchet.
Eddie Gershon, a spokesperson for JD Wetherspoon told the newspaper: “Newbury is a key town for Wetherspoon and although we have never previously had a pub there, we have always been keen on the town.
“The fact that two sites came up in a short time is coincidence but we are keen on both of them.”
During the bad weather, the company experienced a slight decline in their overall sales for the 12 weeks leading up to January 17.
However, according to IBTimes, the company’s total sales during the last quarter increased with 3.7pc.
JD Wetherspoon is still on track with their plans to open 50 additional pubs and create plenty of new jobs before July this year.
