New health jobs created by Bupa

A new "wellness centre" has created 15 health jobs in Solihull with private healthcare provider Bupa.

The facility has been equipped with £1 million of technology as the flagship site in a scheme which could ultimately be rolled out across the country.

In all, £4 million of investment has gone into creating the premises and the 15 health jobs available within.

Dr Mike McGhee, senior regional physician for Bupa Wellness, says: "This new facility is the health and wellness centre of the future.

"It brings together the latest technology and tests under one roof in modern, contemporary and comfortable surroundings."

More than 5,000 patients each year are expected to be treated at the facility, which contains 24 rooms for consultation and treatment.

In the NHS, meanwhile, recent figures from the Department of Health showed that those with health and nursing jobs are now enjoying better conditions than in previous years.

Morgan Jamison, marketing manager at Careers and Jobs UK, says: "It's pleasing to see that the NHS is reporting better working conditions for health and nursing staff. These are vital jobs to the wellbeing of the community and we should strive to improve their working conditions. In addition, the more appealing the working environment is, the more likely people will consider a career in this field."
