Surrey jobs are benefiting from a £11m renovation project at Canada House in Redhill.
According to Get Surrey, the project has completed its first milestone and staff from East Surrey Hospital will be able to rent some of the rooms already.
The renovation is funded by housing association, A2Dominion and includes refurbishments on 120 flats and the building of 100 new units.
Pat Hollingsworth, regional operations director of A2Dominion, told the news source: “We are delighted to have launched this brand new key worker scheme in Redhill.
“We are hopeful that this improved accommodation will help to support the recruitment and retention of healthcare staff.”
The project will also include roof-top solar panels which will produce 10pc renewable energy.
“We welcome the new homes for our nurses, student doctors and support staff," said director of nursing, Mary Sexton to BBC News.
“The trust has close to 3,000 staff and is a major employer in the area.
“The new homes will help retain our skilled staff at East Surrey Hospital and also recruit new staff.”
Projects like these not only create jobs in the area but also boost the morale of local residents and workers.
