An outsourcing company has announced that it is to create 150 jobs in Northern Ireland.
Firstsource, which is headquartered in Mumbai, India, has announced that the new jobs will be based in Londonderry and cover a variety of roles.
According to the organisation, which provides customised business process management services, the posts will range from customer support advisors to operations management.
The news was welcomed by Northern Ireland enterprise minister Arlene Foster, who said the company has a strong focus on training and developing its staff and should be considered a major business services employer.
"Today's announcement clearly demonstrates the competitiveness of the Northern Ireland proposition during the current downturn and the confidence FirstSource has in this region," she explained.
Meanwhile, a spokesman from Ofsted recently said that schemes such as Train to Gain, which encourages employers to develop staff skills, will be essential in helping firms out of the recession.
