Sainsbury's is to create more than 20
retail jobs when it opens a new store in Essex, according to one website.
The East Anglian Daily Times reported that the development will see the supermarket giant take over a former Somerfield site.
More positions will be created when 70 roles are transferred to the Essex store from another Sainsbury's supermarket.
Halstead mayor councillor David Hume, who will open the store, said: "I'm really pleased to join in the launch celebration. I've been looking forward to the opening and delighted to welcome Sainsbury's to our town."
Andy Deacon, manager of the store, said he was looking forward to getting to know the new staff and customers and thanked the mayor and local people who had created two floral displays to celebrate the shop's opening.
Sainsbury's has also recently created another 40
retail jobs when it opened a new store in the Welsh town of Tenby.
