More UK jobs could be created if Labour cuts taxes and takes financial pressure off of businesses, according to one expert who said that the measures would help the economy recover quicker.George Magnus said in his Economic view column for the Times that the extreme actions of the world's governments have helped employment to improve in the last year
The newspaper stated: "Attempts to bounce our way back to the old precipice cannot succeed and we have to think about new economic strategies that will require commitment, patience and, above all, jobs."
He added that millions of new roles need to be created in the coming year but unlike other recessions jobs in the financial market cannot be relied upon.
Around 500 UK jobs could be created after the Westinghouse Electric Company said it was in talks with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) about signing a new long-term five-year lease at its site in Springfields, near Preston.
