Holiday operators Thomson and First Choice will be creating more than 250 customer support and distribution positions at their bases in Coventry and Luton.
Coventry will see 100
leisure jobs added to the force in the pre-travel team, with 155 new roles being created at the Luton headquarters in after-care services and the legal team.
The
tourism jobs will give a boost to the industry just as the summer season gets into full swing, says Thomson.
HR director for Thomson and First Choice Jacky Simmonds said: "We will be looking for naturally empathetic applicants who can grasp and help deliver the exceptional customer service Thomson and First Choice strive to deliver."
She added that those in the Luton after care team will act as investigators, responsible for reaching a resolution for the customer as quickly as possible by taking ownership of problems.
Thomson recently joined forces with Dr Robert Mighall, an expert on the role the sun plays in happiness, who is hoping to help the holiday company understand the sun's role in a great holiday.
