Companies which invest in training and help employees and recent
UK jobseekers improve their skills are increasing motivation in the workplace, according to one expert.
A spokesman from Ofsted said that schemes such as Train to Gain (T2G) are proving popular and give employees the chance to gain recognised qualifications.
He said: "T2G continues to improve employees' knowledge and self-confidence at work and many employers report improvements in work practice and staff retention."
The spokesman added that investing in the improvement of employee skills is crucial for companies which want to remain competitive in the current economic climate.
He rounded off by adding that not enough employees are making enough of their skills and present qualifications when applying for
UK jobs.
The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education claims the proportion of adults currently learning in the UK is 18 per cent, which is its lowest level since the Labour came into power.
